note: a "scenic vista" is technically defined (at least by me) as an awe-inspiring view of large geographical areas, such as cities or mountain ranges. i coin this phrase frequently.

zi255 should load about 10-15 seconds faster now; i've disabled the subsystem that loads statistics. i also added a 403 forbidden custom error page, and one for 500 internal server errors, as well. feel free to browse over to them and bask in the funnitud

every six months or so, i get bored with my current setup and move things around. sometimes it's as simple as moving my monitors slightly to the left, or optimizing the accessibility radius of my central pivot. this time, it was a great deal more complex.

the ram i ordered arrived today, in three neatly-packed 2gb dimms. plug 'em in and enjoy; seems easy enough, right?
so i started by adding a 2gb dimm to kc1, bringing it up to 2gb. my "physical memory available to windows" increased from 2gb to 2.5gb
