this transfer involves neither my raptor nor my velociraptor. just two ordinary 1tb drives with 32mb caches...

i dunno why i've been so obsessed with this gallery page recently, but more changes rolled out today.
in light of my recent deep zoom test and how well it worked, along with the lack of portability and browser compatibility associated with tif images

testing my first deep zoom. requires silverlight. this is an easier way to view monster panoramas without having to download the whole thing. pan and zoom by dragging and mousewheeling, or use the buttons in the viewer.

ok, so maybe i was wrong about the gallery being done. fixed some minor annoyances today:
gallery now filters out filename extensions when displayed in tree view.
gallery thumbnail description text now includes filename and megapixels

finally took the time to get the gallery page working the way i want it, as seen by the several recent posts i've made about recent changes. today i made the last big change i wanted; decoupling the gallery folder structure from the source folder structur

the gallery now displays physical dimensions for the images contained therein. that is to say, in addition to what i call "virtual dimensions" (i.e. 12,316 x 2,730 px), it now includes "(5.1' x 1.1' @ 200 dpi)". figured it helps to give some sense of size

ok, i do panoramas from gog pretty often. one must consider, it's very close and makes for good point-and-shoot target practice. i recently realized that most of my gog panos are from gog, and not of gog. thusly i went up to gog this morning and pano'd it

i've updated both the mechanics and content of the gallery.
code changes:
gallery now filters out thumbnails (i.e. when you click image1.jpg you should see the thumbnail image1_sm.jpg, but you shouldn't see the thumbnail in the list)
